Mean Green Comet Debate Institute

Welcome Letter

Hello,

Welcome to the 2024 Mean Green Comet Debate Institute!! We are excited that you will be joining us on the beautiful UTD campus in Richardson, Texas. Please take a few minutes to read over the information below and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

This email will provide you with information about:

  1. Travel Plans
  2. Required Camp Forms
  3. Tuition
  4. Registration and Check-out (last day)
  5. Student Orientation
  6. Schedules

Travel Plans

If you are making travel plans to DFW your student should plan to arrive in the morning / afternoon of the first day of their division and plan to leave by late afternoon on the last day. Also, the MGC does not provide travel from either LOVE Field or DFW airport, you should make those arrangements on your own. We recommend Super Shuttle as a reliable and affordable option for transport. An Uber is also an option and is approximately $45 fare from either Love Field or DFW.

Required Camp Forms

All participants of the MGC must complete a Medical Release, Indemnification, Talent Release, and pick-up authorization forms to participate in camp. No student will be allowed to check in or participate in any camp activity without these forms on file. All forms can be accessed when enrolling a student. Please reach out to Louis Petit (louiepetit@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

Tuition

The deadline to finalize tuition is June 9, 2024.

Registration and Check-Out (last day of camp)

Please make sure to read carefully to find the correct registration. The Mean Green Comet Debate Institute has 11 different divisions, and the start dates/times vary for each division. There are different times for commuters and residents to arrive for registration. Residents will arrive on campus, check-in with the camp and dorm staff and then have time to prepare their dorm rooms. Commuters will check-in with the camp staff. More information about the process will be posted to the website.
